Update about the latest development in the PTHB MSK Physiotherapy service

Powys Teaching Health Board Physiotherapy service now have an online physiotherapy self-referral form so patients can complete it online and submit directly to our contact centre for processing. The online self-referral form is available on the Powys Teaching Health Board website.

Patients can still use the current paper referrals as needed, which can be handed into the local Physiotherapy department or scanned and emailed to the contact centre.

Referrals for Out Patient Physiotherapy for Neath Port Talbot Patients

Referrals for outpatient physiotherapy services can be done via:

  • Self-Referral via Telephone: Ring Physio Direct and speak to a qualified physiotherapist

You can refer yourself for physio by filling in one of the forms below:

Once you have completed the form, it can be posted, to physiotherapy department at either Neath Port Talbot where you will then be put on the waiting list.

CMATS (Clinical Musculoskeletal Assessment and Treatment) and MSK (Musculo-Skeletal) physiotherapy have developed an online resource page. This does not  replace referrals but the page provides useful resources and information.

Versus Arthritis

Versus Arthritis was formed in 2018, following the merger of Arthritis Research UK and Arthritis Care. As part of the charity, Cymru Versus Arthritis provides support and services for people with arthritis and MSK (Musculo-Skeletal) conditions in Wales through understanding, information and expertise so that people can cope with the impact of their condition and get the most out of life.

Versus Arthritis website offers a huge range of support, from info on conditions, treatments and exercise to free booklets; support via their online community to their free Helpline Advisors.

Versus Arthritis Ystradgynlais support group

The group meets at Cwmtwrch Miners’ Welfare Hall on the first Wednesday of every month from 11:00 to 12:30.

Meetings are open to anyone with arthritis, MSK or related conditions e.g. fibromyalgia, lupus and gout. They provide an opportunity to share lived experiences of having a long-term condition, along with self-management tips, and a chance to participate in activities and talks on health and other subjects.
