Rights and Responsibilities

We welcome all new patients to the practice and acknowledge that both the practice and patient have a responsibility to each other to ensure that we provide the best care at all times.

Practice Values

  • The practice will manage medical conditions according to the highest standards as defined by the profession.
  • All staff will treat you with courtesy and respect.
  • You will receive appropriate information and a clear explanation regarding any treatment proposed for you.
  • We offer you a health check when you register with us to ensure that we have all relevant information about your condition and past medical history. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange this.
  • We will review your repeat medication on a regular basis.

Patient Responsibilities

  • We ask patients to attend their appointments on time and if they are unable to attend to let us know beforehand so that the appointment can be offered to someone else.
  • We ask patients to use their appointment for one person.
  • We would ask that patients do not expect a prescription every time they see a doctor as this is not always appropriate. Likewise prescribing of antibiotics is not always necessary.
  • We need patients to inform us if they change address or telephone number to ensure that contact details are correct.
  • We visit patients at home if they are housebound or terminally ill. Medical problems are dealt with more effectively in surgery than in the home environment.
  • We ask that patients treat the staff and clinical team with respect and courtesy.
  • When patients move from our locality we ask them to register with a new practice.
